February 2021 Theme: Painter/Printer R. C. Gorman

Time:
Fridays @ 10am or 11am PST OR
Saturdays @ 10am or 11am PST
Ages: 3-17
Class Size: 8 households (Invite the whole fam!)
Goals:
Have a blast!
Learn about Native American artist R. C. Gorman
Create our own unique works by studying Gorman’s subject matter and use of line and color
Older students will assist in reading story books to younger students
All students will be encouraged to speak in front of the group about their work-
their process, their materials, their feelings
Have an end-of-the-month review discussion guided by Gardner's Multiple Intelligence Theory
Have a gallery party wherein we show our class where our work is displayed in the home and
tell our gallery-goers about our piece
Schedule:
Over each 45 minutes, we will begin with a warm-up drawing and share that work.
We may read a story, work on our main creations and discuss our work.
We always say goodbye with air high-fives and a silly imagination-based outro
Materials:
Week 1: The Warm-Up
Paper, drawing items (crayons, markers, pencils)
Week 2: Women and the Environment
Paper/cardstock/cardboard, drawing items (crayons, markers, pencils)
Week 3: The Color
Work from last week
Drawing items (crayons, markers, pencils, paint)
Week 4: The Gallery
Wear something fancy!
Prepare a title that describes your work and label your work
Display your work somewhere in your home and get ready to share
Juice and cheese spread optional
